This year holds particular significance as we mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, a milestone that resonates deeply with our commitment to remembering the atrocities of the Holocaust. It is also the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide in Bosnia, a tragic reminder that the lessons of history must continue to be taught and learned.
Our theme for this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day is “For a Better Future.” This theme underscores our collective responsibility to learn from the past to ensure a more just and compassionate world for future generations. The city of Bristol, with its rich and diverse community, plays a crucial role in ensuring that the horrors of the past are never forgotten.
Our event not only honour's the memory of those who perished but also serves as a solemn reminder of our duty to stand against hatred and discrimination in all its forms.
Our event will take place at City Hall on the 27th January,
With special guest speakers,
