Down Cathedral will host a series of readings and a talk to launch the display of a special candle holder produced as part of HMDT's 80 candles project by Downpatrick Presbyterian Women Connect. Readers will share extracts from Edith Jacobowitz's diary and information about her experiences and those of her brother Gert. The candle holder creatively reflects aspects of the children's escape from Nazi persecution to their place of safety in Millisle Refugee Farm in the 1930s. Linda McKenna, a local award winning, poet, will read some poetry. The candle holder will remain displayed in Down Cathedral for visitors and worshippers to view.
