Our Primary school had a small assembly about what HMD is about and made different things to remember how we can remember what happened (and is happening), be better people and be strong together.
The Lower years created hands with ideas on how to be kind on them.
The middle years created paper chains looking at how to be better humans to each other and see how we are a link in the chain.
The Older years looked at what we are remembering the people who made a difference or were/are affected and made individual flames with their thoughts on them.

This was all collated to make a picture of a candle with various flames coming from it, hands on the side to 'bring in light' like on Shabbat and surrounded by paper chains to show our strength as humans and as Jews.
