HMD Jersey takes place in the Occupation Tapestry Gallery in Jersey Maritime Museum. It is organised by Jersey Heritage, in partnership with Jersey Jewish Congregation and Jersey Arts Centre for the Office of the Bailiff of Jersey. The ceremony begins at 1pm and is followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the Lighthouse Memorial dedicated to the 21 Islanders who died in German camps and prisons and the hundreds more imprisoned by the occupying forces between 1940 and 1945. The guest speaker is Dr Toby Simpson, Director of the Wiener Holocaust Library in London. The closing address will be delivered by the Dean of Jersey, the Very Rev Mike Keirle. The commemoration is expected to end around 2pm. Anyone wishing to attend should arrive by 12.30pm.
