To commemorate HMD this year, Shirley Lennon from the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust will visit Newry and Mourne Museum to tell the story of Edith Jacobowitz, who escaped from Germany in 1938.
The session will focus on how Edith arrived in Northern Ireland, her diary, the Kindertransport story and the Millisle farm, Co. Down established in 1938. There will be a craft activity after with pupils getting the chance to make small suitcases, writing some words to fit in the suitcase inspired by Edith's diary.
There will be two sessions on 6 February. Times: 9.30 – 10.30 and 11am - 12pm.
These workshops are free of charge and suitable for P7 classes.
