Join us for an evening of reflection to remember victims of the Holocaust on Wednesday 22 January 2025.

The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) 2025 is For a better Future. There are many things we can all do to create a better future. We can speak up against Holocaust and genocide denial and distortion; we can challenge prejudice; we can encourage others to learn about the Holocaust and more recent genocides.

Keynote Speakers:

Charlie Knight

Charlie is a historian of the Holocaust and German-Jewish history at the Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/non-Jewish Relations at the University of Southampton. He is also a fellow at the Leo Baeck Institute and teaches modern German history at UCL. He will deliver a talk connecting the narratives of those that remained in Germany with those who left for Britain.

Bakhit Adam

Bakhit is the Chairman of the Reading Sudanese Community and will speak about the current situation in Darfur, Sudan.
