This the St Albans City and District Council Civic event to mark Holocaust Memorial Day; it is being hosted by St Albans Masorti Synagogue. It comprises an evening of testimony from 2nd generation survivors, but also includes the testimony of Kitty Hart-Moxon OBE, survivor from Auschwitz which is being delivered by Peter and Moira Hart (Kitty's son and daughter-in-law). Kitty Hart-Moxon was also present. Being 98 this was a challenge for her but nonetheless she was proud to be there.
The ceremony included a film by Laureen Levy about her grandmother who lived in Berlin but who eventually was murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The evening included live music from three separate sets of musicians and testimony from other genocides read by Daisy Cooper MP for St Albans and Annie Brewster, the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire. There was an address by Robert Voss CBE, CStj, the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire.
