The Jewish Dog is a new contemporary performance inspired by a book written by Asher Kravitz. The performance filters the darkest period of Jewish history through the naive perspective of a dog. Using visual storytelling tools like close-circle-camera projection, as the dog guides us through the experience of living in Berlin in the 1930s.
The project is developed and performed in relation to the International Holocaust Memorial Day, the 27th of January. That marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The project is a collaboration between Jewish immigrants and British artists to explore and expand the representation and the conversation about the Holocaust through the stage.
The Jewish Dog is supported through a Mead Fellowship, awarded by University of the Arts London.
