Learning Disability Week, which is organised by the charity Mencap, is a time for people to come together and ensure that those with learning disabilities have an equal opportunity in life and can triumph over adversity.
It takes place in June every year with a different theme to help people reflect on the experiences of those with learning disabilities. This is important as it helps to ensure these people who are at risk of facing prejudice are not excluded from society, which is the first step on the path to genocide.
