HMD 2010 Events
Thousands of people across the UK – from Orkney to South Cornwall – came together at hundreds of events in local communities and schools to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day 2010.
More than 650 events took place in 2010 organised by schools, faith groups, local councils, youth groups, race equality, prisons and young offenders’ institutions, LGBT and community groups.
The theme of HMD 2010 was The Legacy of Hope and many organisers used this as a focus for their events and encouraged those attending to become part of The Legacy of Hope by listening to the voices and experiences of survivors of the Holocaust, Nazi persecution and subsequent genocides and using their hopes as inspiration to create a safer, better future.
