We are excited to announce our Holocaust Memorial Day Youth Champions' Day in Manchester next month, where we will celebrate the achievements of our current Youth Champions. We are also inviting new Youth Champions to join us for HMD 2016. If you are aged 14-24 and interested in attending then please get in touch!

The Youth Champions’ Day, which takes place at the People’s History Museum on Monday 13 April, is an opportunity for you to share what you did to raise awareness of HMD 2015 but also for you to meet like-minded young people and develop practical skills. There will be a skills-based training workshop as well as a talk from a Holocaust studies expert, giving you the knowledge and expertise to confidently lead your own HMD activities.

Youth Champions will also have the privilege of meeting and having afternoon tea with several Holocaust survivors and receiving a certificate.

We will cover travel expenses and there are 30 places available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will be from 11am and lunch will be provided. The day is due to finish at 5pm, however there is an opportunity to attend our exclusive HMD 2016 theme launch event in the evening. This is entirely optional but if you would like to get planning your activities early, it would be great for you to join us.

If you are interested in attending the Youth Champions’ Day, then get in touch with HMDT Outreach Officer Harriet Drake. If you know any young people who may want to get involved, then please pass on these details.
