We are pleased to announce that we are inviting teachers to join us in an advisory capacity to review our educational materials and resources. These resources are produced each year to support the delivery of the annual theme for Holocaust Memorial Day within educational settings. The theme for 2013 is Communities Together: Build a Bridge.
We are looking for teachers from a variety of settings (Primary, Secondary, SEN, Post 16 and PRUs) whether or not you have previously used our resources.
We ask that you have a keen interest in commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day and a commitment to helping your students understand and learn lessons from the past to create a safer, better future.
What will this entail?
If selected, you will be invited to attend two 90 minute meetings in Vauxhall.
Thursday 31 May 2012 5 – 6.30pm
Tuesday 3 July 2012 5 – 6.30pm
In the first session, there will be the opportunity to review previous years’ materials and resources, identifying what worked well, and anything that you may have wished for that wasn’t included. What was the most useful? Which activities worked best with the young people that you delivered to?
We will then look at an overview of the 2013 theme and plans we have so far and invite your opinion.
At the second session in July, we will show the materials that have been created for 2013 and invite your feedback once again, to see if there are any ways that we can improve what we have created.
The completed lesson plans will be uploaded to our website and ready to use by other teachers by mid July – ready for the start of the new academic year.
Please note this role is voluntary, however we will be able to reimburse travel (for London zones 1-6). If you would like to share your opinions and make recommendations yet are unable to attend the meetings, please do let us know and we can add your details to our e-group.
Places are limited and we are seeking to have representation from a variety of different educational contexts. Therefore, if you are interested, please contact the team at and request an Expression of Interest form for the Volunteer Advisors for Educational Resources and return to the team by Monday 14 May. We will endeavour to notify you of the outcome by Friday 18 May.
Thank you for your interest.
