Broughton Community Hub hosted a formal ceremony of remembrance involving libraries, schools, and community groups.  The event featured a speech from Holocaust survivor Jack Aizenberg and members of the BBC Philharmonic performed movements from Michael Tippet’s Second String Quartet and Benjamin Britten’s First String Quartet.

There was a series of short film screenings including ‘Forgotten Genocide’ describing the Nazi persecution of the Roma and Sinti through the eyes of six young people, followed by a ceremony of candle-lighting and stone-laying.  In the foyer there was an exhibition of Holocaust related works by local artist Chava Rosenzweig, which ran alongside a display of books provided by Library services and the Association of Jewish Refugees.
