The Book Thief – Holocaust Memorial Day Film Screening and Discussion
This activity provides a suggested film to screen (The Book Thief), guidelines on how to run your film club and questions for discussion. It can be used by any Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) activity organiser including schools, colleges, universities, youth groups and workplaces.
There are a number of ways your group may choose to watch a film given the need for social distancing. Group viewing at home is possible using third party extensions such as Netflix Party. If you choose to have your discussion over a platform such as Zoom, you may find the Community Security Trust’s advice on secure live streaming useful.
If you choose to screen a film outside your home for a group, you may need a licence – more information about if you need a licence and how to get one, is available from the Independent Cinema Office.
