"Through these pale cold days."
When my wife and myself visited Auschwitz and Birkenau during a bitterly cold February 1997, I came across the photographs of this young woman.
What struck me, as she looked into the camera that day, was the expression in her eyes, a disturbing mixture of dignity and fear.
Her face has haunted me all these years.
I hope she survived.
The Holocaust Memorial is a collaboration between myself and the Brighton based, The Life and Death Orchestra.
