Young People
On Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD), young people play a vital role in learning from genocide – for a better future.
We define young people as those aged under 25 and we currently work closely with schools, youth groups and higher education communities to engage young people from a variety of settings.
Each year HMD activities take place across the UK, bringing people together from all backgrounds to learn more about the Holocaust, Nazi Persecution and the genocides which followed. HMD provides a meaningful opportunity for people of all ages to consider how we can make our society a better place today, free from hatred, prejudice and discrimination.
We offer guidance and support for young people and youth organisations to hold meaningful HMD activities. Click on the boxes at the bottom of this page to find more information and guidance.
The resources section of our website contains a range of resources, which provide inspiration and guidance to young people and youth organisations that are organising HMD activities. Resources include life stories of people affected by genocide, posters, craft activities, dance tutorials and social action activities.

We currently work with our Youth Forum, a group of experienced youth speakers, who are available to speak at events, covering a range of topics and geographical areas.
