Holocaust Memorial Day 2026: Bridging Generations
28 January @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Come join us for a meaningful evening of learning and connecting across generations at Holocaust Memorial Day 2026!
Hosted by Brent Council

Join us for an evening of remembrance, reflection, and shared humanity as we mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2026 with the theme Bridging Generations. The event will take place in the Grand Hall at Brent Civic Centre, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm (doors opening at 5:30pm).

This year’s commemoration honours the connection between those who survived, those who inherited their stories, and the generations who continue this vital work of remembrance. Through testimony, music, and historical insight, we will explore how memory is passed on, how it shapes our collective understanding, and why every generation is responsible for standing against hatred, discrimination, and genocide.

Featuring: John Hajdu MBE

We are privileged to welcome John Hajdu MBE, Holocaust survivor and distinguished speaker. John will share his extraordinary personal journey.

Performances by JFS choir & Cantorial Singers
This event will also acknowledge and reflect on the experiences of those affected by other genocides. We honour the memories of victims and survivors of all genocides.
The programme will highlight Brent’s own historical connections to Holocaust history, including the borough’s Kindertransport link, where young Jewish refugees found safety and new beginnings.
Historical displays from Brent Archive.
Food and refreshments will be available.
