The Closer Than You Think project and Queer Culture Counts (Peter Moorcraft, Martin Adams & Vinojan Sebanalai) in collaboration with Robert Flood (art installation) & Dalia Halpern at Chatham memorial Synagogue intend to illuminate The Ship Inn and the Chatham Memorial Synagogue in pink light to commemorate those who wore the 'pink triangles' and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz Berkanau.
The Men With Pink Triangle, a seldom told story, is the focus of this project! QCC will stick with the theme of the Pink Triangle during LGBT history month with a memorial event at the synagogue in remembrance of pink triangle victims and survivors of the holocaust. We will celebrate the reclaiming and reappropriation of this iconic image as a symbol of defiance, liberation and activism within the LGBTQ+ community.
The Ship Inn remains the hub of all QCC avtivities and we would like to thank Nathan Morgan for his on going hospitality and support.
