On Tues 28th January 2025, St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art will host an event for our local primary school which commemorates Holocaust Memorial Day through guest speakers, workshops and art activities.

In the lead up to the event, we will work with a group of secondary school pupils over a series of sessions where they will explore the themes of holocaust and genocide. These sessions centre around objects and artworks from Glasgow Museums' collections, including the drawings of concentration camp survivor Marianne Grant. Other sessions will involve a visit to the local synagogue and Jewish Heritage Centre, and the exploration of real life stories.

This group of secondary pupils will then apply their learning to design and co-deliver a commemorative event to primary pupils on the 25th January. The event is not a public event and for the project schools only.
