Recipe from Darfur
HMDT has produced recipe cards sharing dishes important to communities targeted during genocide. Also providing background information, they are an engaging way of learning about cultures and celebrating the lives of people who were murdered during genocide.
Aseeda is a high-energy food eaten at most meals in Darfur and is often combined with a stew or curry containing okra. A staple food in Darfur, aseeda is an excellent source of energy for the strenuous agricultural work which is the backbone of the Darfuri economy.
