Today the United Kingdom assumes the Chair of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). IHRA is the organisation which evolved from the Stockholm Declaration of 2000 – the international agreement which instituted Holocaust Memorial Day across the world and committed its signatories to preserve the memory of those who were murdered in the Holocaust.

Yesterday, 18 January 2018, more than 150 survivors of the Holocaust and genocide were welcomed by The Lord Mayor of London to a special reception at Mansion House ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day 2018.

The international educational programme, which brings people from across the world to Poland, involves travelling to various memorial sites before a memorial walk from Auschwitz I to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
