Genocide in Bosnia - 30th Anniversary

Thirty years ago, in July 1995, against the backdrop of the ongoing war, Bosnian Serb troops and paramilitaries descended on the town of Srebrenica and murdered 8,000 Muslim men, and boys over 12 years old. The genocide at Srebrenica is the largest incidence of mass-murder in Europe since World War Two.

Rebuilding lives

After the Holocaust, those who survived often faced incomprehension and even hostility. People who went back to where they had previously lived frequently discovered that their homes were occupied by other people and that their belongings were gone. They were treated with fear and resentment.
