Statement on antisemitic abuse shared by Wiley

‘The barrage of antisemitic abuse shared by Wiley over the past couple of days is hugely troubling. Antisemitism [anti-Jewish hatred] shared online has real-world consequences – particularly when shared by influential individuals with a large number of followers.

’Twitter and other social media platforms need to take swift and decisive action in cases like this. It cannot be acceptable for hate-filled, racist content to remain online for many hours, for thousands to see.

‘Whilst this case involved antisemitic abuse, the sad reality is that abuse is targeted on a daily basis at minorities of all kinds and is all too prevalent in our online spaces.’
