Statement following stabbing in north London

“We are horrified by the relentless and alarming rise in antisemitism in the UK, with synagogues and Jewish charities targeted in arson attacks in recent weeks, and now a stabbing in Golders Green. Our thoughts are with those affected, their loved ones and the wider community.

We are so grateful to the emergency services – the Met Police, Community Security Trust, Shomrim and Hatzola – who responded so swiftly and professionally.

These events are deeply troubling and show the real and present impact of hatred in our communities. It is vital that we stand in solidarity with the Jewish community and come together to stand against antisemitism and all forms of prejudice.”

Olivia Marks-Woldman OBE, Chief Executive of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust.
