Statement from HMDT Chief Executive, Olivia Marks-Woldman OBE.

Holocaust Memorial Day Trust was delighted to work with partners in Wales to mark Holocaust Memorial Day on Friday 25 January at Cardiff City Hall.

Political, faith and civic leaders and celebrities join survivors to attend our UK National Ceremony marking Holocaust Memorial Day 2026.

Holocaust Memorial Day Trust commissioned a special project entitled Moving Portraits. This is a collection of five photographs of genocide survivors, with each individual featured holding an object that holds significance to them.

There are many organisations which may be able to assist and advise you with the organisation of your event, or help you learn more about some of the issues associated with Holocaust Memorial Day. Some work with Holocaust and genocide survivors, others focus on remembrance and education, and some work in community relations.
